The Cousteau — Mediterranean Italian Red Coral Sterling Silver Ring, Hand-Forged, Size 7

This ring was forged from raw silver ingot — built by hand from scratch in the Appalachian Mountains of Bald Creek, North Carolina. No casting. No molds. Every element (except serrated bezel) was worked at the anvil using traditional smithing techniques passed down through generations of metalworkers.

Named for Jacques Cousteau — the man who brought the ocean’s secrets to the world. He dove these same Mediterranean waters. This coral came from them.

The Stone

The centerpiece is a genuine natural Mediterranean Italian red coral cabochon — deep, saturated red with the warm organic glow only real coral carries. 5.30 carats. 15mm long, 7mm wide, 5mm deep. Untreated and unheated. Not dyed, not reconstituted, not enhanced. This is authentic Mediterranean coral in its natural state — increasingly rare, highly collectible, and irreplaceable.

The Setting

The bezel is hand-fabricated from sterling silver and bordered with twisted rope silver wire twisted by hand to create a crisp, faceted border that frames the coral with precision. The silverwork surrounding the stone is an elaborate hand-stamped composition: sweeping fan motifs radiate outward from the bezel on both sides, and five-petal flower accents anchor the top and bottom of the face. Every element was struck individually by hand with custom stamping tools. The deep oxidized finish brings every detail into sharp relief against the polished silver.

The Band

The band is a half-round profile at 5mm wide, hand-stamped with a bold chevron and diamond pattern that wraps the shank. Substantial and comfortable, it wears with authority. Hallmarked RW and stamped Sterling for authenticity.

Coral is an organic gem — avoid prolonged exposure to water, chemicals, acids, and harsh soaps. Store separately to prevent scratching. The oxidized finish can be refreshed with a soft polishing cloth.
